Bridal Makeup | Life Update!

I have two days left of student teaching and then I will officially be able to file for my K-5 license! I'm so ready to finally get paid again!! Since my summer job ended in August, I haven't had an official paycheck since.

Student teaching is insaaaaane money-wise. You pay thousands of dollars for a semester that you spend learning and essentially working full time yet have no source of income. I find that to be such a racket. Don't get me wrong, I have learned an IMMENSE amount during my student teaching time. My cooperating teacher has been nothing but amazing. She was so so helpful in every aspect of the word. I'm really lucky to have her! Now it's onto the job hunt.

Looking for teaching jobs is super competitive these days so I'm hoping I'll be able to get into the district I've been working in for the last two years!

Since it's been so incredibly long, I wanted to share with you makeup I did on a bride who is absolutely stunning! She doesn't wear a lot of makeup on a day-to-day basis so I wanted to keep her look natural, but enough to show up in professional photos (all photos by Magdalena Studios). I will link all the products I used on her below.

Like seriously, how gorgeous is she? She looks that gorgeous without makeup on too. It's honestly not even fair!! She is also my good friend from high school so I got to go to the wedding as well. Here are some pictures from the night (I'm in navy)

Products used on the bride:
Face:
MAC Pro Longwear Waterproof foundation in NW20 and NW35
Makeup Revolution Concealer for undereyes
Ben Nye Cameo Powder to set undereyes
NYX Taupe Micro Eyebrow pencil
Too Faced Chocolate Bronzer
MAC Peachykeen blush

Eyes:
MAC Soft Brown
Makeup Geek Chickadee, Cocoa bear
LORAC Espresso with a touch of black from the Pro palette
LORAC Rose and Champage
Lashes are extensions she had done at a salon

GET READY WITH ME | New Video! Using Makeup Revolution + MAC + Fenty & More.

HIIIIIIIIII.

Finally filmed a new video. It's a chit chat get ready with me, and baby is it loooooong. 17 minutes and some change with me talking about random things and getting ready to go to dinner with my sister! We went to one of our favorite restaurants-Sampan in Philly. If you live in the area, GO THERE. Their portions are small but we share everything! We ordered: edamame dumplings, cheesesteak bao, pork + shrimp spring roll, and our all time fave the Chilean sea bass. The sea bass is seriously one of my favorite dishes of ALLLLLL time. If you live in/near Philly this is their menu http://www.sampanphilly.com/menu/.

My sister is my best friend and fellow foodie so we love going on sissy dates to dinner together. I have to admit though she goes out way more than I do so I usually hear the good new places from her.

I did a bronzey look in this video! Nothing too crazy from my typical, but I had gone to Ulta that day and wanted to try the new stufffys I got.

It's Been A While!

Well Hey There!

Since it's nearing the end of the Spring semester I've been so super busy with school work and my Practicums that I have had almost no time to blog. I took on quite a large new project at work so between that and my semester, life has been crazy. So let me fill you guys in on whats been happening:

I finished my first 30-hour Practicum (field work) to become a teacher! I was with a 3rd grade class and I loved it. They were all so great and helped me learn so much. The last day each student gave me advice on what I could do to be the best teacher I could be! How sweet is that? That was probably my favorite part of the whole thing. The cooperating teacher who was there to help me learn was amazing. She was super helpful and welcomed any questions I had.

Wedding season is also in full swing, I have had freelance work pretty much every weekend for the past four weeks. I did a girl for prom the other day and it was probably one of my most favorite looks ever! I think I'm going to post it later this week.

In other news, I have been obsessed watching cleaning videos on YouTube lately. So odd but it makes me feel so motivated to clean!! I've also been binge watching Shameless like CRAZY. Whenever I get a free second I watch it (even on my lunch break at work). It is so addicting! I'm almost caught up to the current season and I'm so impatient I don't want to wait for new episodes!! If you have any other show suggestions definitely let me know! I always love watching new series (and yes, I'm already obsessed with Game of Thrones).

Hello December!

December is one of my favorite months because, CHRISTMAS 😍😍😍😍😍. Honestly I am such a little kid when it comes to holidays, and this is 100% my favorite one. So much so that I started watching Hallmark Christmas movies in October! Everyone told me it was too soon, but not for me. I feel like they help me get in the mood for Thanksgiving too. I know that almost all of them are MAJORLY corny-but I honestly cannot help but love them. Some of my favorites are: Marry Me at Christmas, My Christmas Love, and A Gift Wrapped Christmas. If any one these are on this month and you're in the mood for a cheesy movie-grab the popcorn LOL.

Another thing that gets me in the mood for the upcoming winter months is scarves. I have a thing for plaid scarves. I'm also quite picky about them though, for the most part they have to be blanket scarves and extremely soft for me to like them-no itchy scarves allowed here! I found some really cute ones this season from Old Navy and Charlotte Russe. They're reasonably priced and both stores usually have a coupon code if you google it.

I also love these: Charlotte Russe Scarf 1, Charlotte Russe Scarf 2 <- These are on sale for $10 right now!

Hope you enjoyed my welcome into December!

New Mugs and Oscar Excitement!

I'm such a sucker for mugs. Whenever I see a cute mug, I physically cannot resist. TJ Maxx is one of my most favorite places to buy my "cute" mugs. Anything blush or gold is an immediate pick up. When I bring another mug home I instantly get yelled at because we have "too many mugs," as if that's a real thing. A mug has to have the right fit for my hand (soooo dramatic, I know). But ay, a girl knows when she knows. When the mug feels right, I must buy it. I should probably have a mug company with that as the slogan LOL. Someone please stop me. ANY WHOOOOO. . .here are the two mugs I picked up this past weekend. They were only $3.99 each at my local TJ Maxx.

The first one is white with gold distorted polka dots.

The second one was hard to get a good picture of but it has light pink stripes.

Anyway, I'm so excited for the Oscars! It seemed like many of you enjoyed my beauty breakdown from last year, so I plan to do the same this weekend. Some of my favorites that always show out are Kerry Washington, Alicia Vikander and Priyanka Chopra. I cannot wait to see what they wear this year! I've always loved the idea of hosting an Oscars party but it always sneaks up on me before I have time to properly plan. Maybe next year I'll be able to plan a fab little shindig and force my girlfriends to come over and watch with me :)

Until Next Time xx,

2016: The Good, The Bad, and The Better!

I cannot believe it's already January. I feel like 2016 flew by and by the time I had gotten used to it, it was gone! While there were so many ups and downs, I can realistically say that it wasn't such a horrible year. I've been seeing everyone on Twitter and Instagram complaining about how horrible 2016 was, and I'm pretty blessed that it wasn't so horrible for me. Regardless of it's downs, 2016 has had a plethora of ups for me. For one, I began my Youtube channel. It's definitely slow building a following to say the least, but that's not really what it's about for me. I have so much fun filming the videos and even more fun editing them (backwards I know).

Link to my Youtube Channel -> COME SAY HI :)

2016 was the first year I ever visited Washington, D.C. I was 23 and I thought it was crazy that I had never been to our nations capital! I was surprised at how much I enjoyed myself. We stayed in town at the Mariott Marquis on Massachusetts Avenue. The hotel was stunning! It was huge and had a decent view of the city street (if you stayed on that side of the hotel). We did some major exploring. Being that it was my first time in D.C., I was so ready to do anything and everything dedicated to history. We visited Lincoln's Memorial (and I cried, yes. . . cried), and Ford's Theater. We also went to Smithsonian which had a killer dinosaur (no pun intended) exhibit. I was more excited than pretty much every kid there LOL. Here are some of my favorite pictures from the trip:

Another amazing trip was our family vacation to Savannah, G.A. 2016 was the third consecutive year in a row that my family and I visited the city. I am OBSESSED with it there. It's stunningly beautiful and so absolutely rich with history. My whole family is filled with History nerds, so we love to soak up what we can while we're there. We stay right in the thick of it in City Market, just two blocks down from River Street. I hadn't shared any of these pictures with y'all, so I figured I'd add some fun ones :). If you are ever near Savannah, you MUST go! Even just for the day, stopping through will make you want to stay. Here are some of my favorite pics from the Savannah trip:

In addition to my two amazing vacations, I got a brand new smile! I got braces put on to fix my gap/teeth in general. I got them in July of 2014 and they removed them in April 2016. I wasn't supposed to have them on that long (something that apparently is a common theme with Orthodontists). Prior to getting them off, I had to get all four of my wisdom teeth extracted. Needless to say that was not at all pleasant LOL. Alas, I got through the pain and my fear of anesthesia and am relieved that it's over with! Here is a before and after picture of my smile :D

Lastly, but certainly not least, I also started a new job! I'm working as a Teaching Assistant at an elementary school as well as continuing as a makeup artist, and I love it! I'm currently in the process of applying for my Masters and Teaching Certification in grades K-5. I'm so excited to start! Of course it will be super difficult, especially trying to balance school with my insane schedule; but I'm definitely up for the challenge. If any of you are elementary school teachers, let me know some things that helped you get though school/praxis!

There have been so many more great things that happened, as well as bad. My life is definitely not perfect, and 2016 had its trying moments. If I've learned one thing in my 24 years; it's to always try to look on the bright side. If it seems impossible, fake it till you make it! Here's to a happy, healthy, and wealthy (hopefully lol) 2017!

Seanmarie
